When it comes to choosing a summer vacation spot, we are sure to choose a hill station. This holiday season we decided to examine the state of Kerala. My group of friends planning a trip to Kerala 5-day and visit places that would be enough for soothing the senses and also visually appealing.Kerala Holiday

With 5 days to make the most of the holiday, we four friends decided to include four destinations: Cochin – Munnar – Thekkady-Alleppey. We decided to travel by train, thereby arrive in Cochin city. From there we planned to head to Munnar, relax for two days, and then move to Thekkady and finish our tour with a relaxing houseboat experience in Alleppey.

The journey:

It is our mission to make nice summers when we started arriving at the station Ernakulam. Reach our train at 1.30 pm in the afternoon, allowing time to travel to Munnar before sunset us. Our car journey from Cochin to Munnar was about four hours long, but the greenery around keeping our enchanted throughout along with local street food that we keep feasting all the way. As we are approaching Munnar, the temperature began to drop and feel pleasant environment. Welcomed the Grand Plaza hotel, amazing view of the hills with us. We want to just enjoy the view of the hills from the window of our room, but then we were about to draw something to witness. Leaving our bags unpacked, we rushed to Blossom Park. Seeing hundreds of colorful flowers around the lake as well as, the view looks like we’re in a dreamland. The boat ride was the best part of the day, I must say.

Day 2 arrived and we are ready to explore the natural wonders of Munnar. The Mattupetty dam was our first destination and that was a great scene! The lake is clean and clear, and the dam could spread green cover up our eyes see. After this pleasant sight, it was time to visit our next destination, the Rajmalalai wildlife sanctuary. All we want to do in the lush green jungle to see the Nilgiri Thar we are not lucky enough to spot. However, on our journey, we managed to see squirrels, the Nilgiri Dangoor and elephants. We retire for the day with dinner in the great outdoors in our hotel, recollecting our experiences.

On the third day of our journey, we have designed a whole day at the Periyar wildlife sanctuary. We offer adieu to the hotel and look forward to the next adventure. We were lucky enough to see a tiger at a distance far, this certainly was the best experience I could and my group of friends together forever. We inflate our camera lenses to capture the moment and until the date of the experience fresh in our memory. Elephant Walk was the next best thing we experienced, the elephants walk on their own pace and members of their group following them all in line and behave well, it can make anyone look to fall in love with them . As the sun begins to set, we were made to head to our room tree-top! Spend the night on top of a tree in a dense jungle that is home to many animals, appeared and it was so thrilling adventure in every sense.Kerala Holiday

Holiday Resorts in Kerala

After the jungle adventure we keep our fourth day in Kerala’s backwater splendor. The region of Alleppey welcomed perfect for us. Since we want to escape the heat during the day, we skip the long-distance destination and visit coir factory instead. The livelihoods of a huge population of this region depends on the cottage industry of making coir. We were amazed at the skill and speed at which the employees work.Kerala Holiday

After the factory visit we reach the houseboat where we had the whole evening and night to spend. The best memory of the backwaters watching the sunset and the color of the sky change thereafter. Later lunch in the open air and then, where we could hear the sounds and feel the calm water around. Say hello to a new day on a houseboat is something I want my power to every day of my life. With the start of our fifth day in beautiful Kerala, it was also time to say goodbye to god’s own country and from traveling. With bags full of memories and a lot of fun times, we went back to the station Ernakulam. The time spent in Kerala, from May 3 – AY7, 2013 gave us the necessary dose of adventure, natural bliss and relief from scorching summer. If you want to explore the south in the summers, I suggest you visit Kerala Holiday.
