The Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal was completed in 1653 and construction took a whopping 21 years to complete. It was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as a tribute to his wife Mumtaz Mahal who died during child birth. It is said that after its construction, the emperor had the hands of the workers cut so that that type of Mahal could never be built again. Mumtaz Mahal remains rest in this fairytale-like building to this day. Its most captivating feature is its tendency to appear as if its color alters as the day light changes.

Varanasi Ghats

Varanasi is one of the oldest living cities in India and the whole world. Ghats which are situated along the banks of river Ganges (Hindus Holy River) are the holiest places in the city. The Mahabodhi Temple

Also known as the Great Awakening Temple, this Buddhist temple is located in the Gaya district, Bihar state. This temple is an important shrine of Indian Buddhists. The temple is deemed as one of the 7 wonders of India. This ancient site contains a monastery, a Mahabodhi Tree and the statute of Lord Buddha Stupa.


Now just a laid back village, Hampi was the last capital of Vijayanagar, a great Hindu empire. Its ruins are very captivating stretching for over 27 kilometers and have over 450 monuments. The top attraction here is the Vittala temple which was dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This particular temple has 56 pillars which make a musical sound when struck.
