Few kilometer from Yamunotri temple, Surya Kund is a hot water spring dedicated to Sun God. He is believed to be the father of Goddess Yamuna. The inside water resource with an extraordinary temperature of 1900 Fahrenheit is totally unique in the cold climate of Himalayas. The water is so hot that it is use to prepare the Prasad of Yamunotri Temple. Devotees bind rice and potatoes in a cotton cloth, dip in the Kund to get it cooked. This cooked food is offered to the temple.

Located at a high altitude, it is a magnificent lake with blue and gray shades of flowing water. To reach here you need to walk a long track. Here you can witness the rare Braham Kamal near the glistening lake. The charm of landscapes and refreshing beauty will rejuvenate you.

Hanuman Chhatti is the initial spot of Yamunotri and Dodital Trek. With the fusion of Ganga and Yamuna River, this place is perfect for trekking. There are snow-cap over the peaks all around giving and exciting and amusing view. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful with stunning landscape beauty.
