Fort Kochi is one of the places in Kerala that has a lot of colonial influences. As a matter of fact it is that place that is home to one of the few, rare, surviving synagogues in the country. The streets are clean and narrow and there is much to do here. Let us examine them further. You can get to Fort Kochi either by road which is a much longer way or else you can take the ferry from M.G. road and in about 30 minutes you will reach Fort Cochin. From there, you can take an auto or a bus to the beach. A few kilometers before reaching beach you can take a walk which means that you can spend some time shopping. Beware of the shop keepers though because they can overcharge for the things. There are many things that you can choose, such as post cards, decorative pieces, jewellery, and other such things.

Also you can go the Jew neighbourhood where you can talk to some of the people living there. They are one of the dying groups of people in the country. Their houses are built in an old fashion and they have a simple way of life and living. There is also a synagogue where you can get a glimpse of how they came about o love in a small city in Kerala and the like. This is an aspect of Kerala that is so different places in the state. It is so different from the reality of the mainstream Christians and of Muslims in the state. There is so much more that you can do in Fort Cochin. You can get a glimpse of the Chinese Fishing nets at the beach that fishes from the Arabian Sea. The Fort Kochi beach is not the cleanest or the most interesting beach in the country but it is interesting because of its history and its geographical location
